The Positivity Project is the umbrella term for a series of positive education solutions designed to teach and embed the skills of optimal functioning, wellbeing and flourishing. All programs within The Positivity Project are built upon evidence-based research in the field of positive psychology, mindfulness and best practice teaching methodology. In order to facilitate Positivity, the Chief Human Resources Office has created a Positivity Project. The goal of this project is (1) to teach employees about Positivity – both the science behind Positivity and how to infuse Positivity into the work environment, (2) to encourage and implement Positivity Organizational Practices, and, here’s the big one , (3) to generate a Positivity shift. The Positivity Project is about human decency, has no religious undertones, but definitely promotes wellness and community. These are values that parents hope to instill in their children. It is what we hope teachers model and promote.

The Positivity Project aims to reach 2,000 schools and 1 million students nationwide by 2022. Every one to two weeks, our students learn about a new character strength. By leveraging Positivity Project resources, provided free of cost, teachers use approximately 10-15 minutes per day to lead a discussion about that week’s strength.

The Positivity Project ideals evolve throughout a student’s whole school career. The 24 character strengths develop and gain more meaning for students as they grow. Once students learn the meaning of each strength and what it looks like, they can then be embedded into the curriculum in every subject area.
